| Statement
from the Finucane family in response to today's statement by Paul Murphy |
| 23rd September 2004
At last the Government have conceded that
the truth should emerge about the circumstances surrounding Pat's murder.
The fact that Paul Murphy has announced the establishment of an enquiry is
not the end of the matter. The fact that he has not announced a 'public'
enquiry means that the Government probably does not intend to have a
proper inquiry.

| Finucane
family statement |
| 16th April 2003
In advance of the delivery of the report
by Sir John Stevens into allegations of collusion, Michael Finucane
stated:
"The completion of Stevens III has been anticipated for some time and
there have been widespread advance leaks of parts of the report in
newspapers like The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. The persistent claim
by Sir John Stevens and other members of his team - notably Hugh Orde -
was that publication would be extensive and frank. Despite this, the
completion and publication of the report has been postponed a number of
times which has given rise to concerns that the report itself was subject
to political pressure."

| Response
by the Finucane family - to the UN Special Rapporteurs Report to the
Commission on Human Rights |
| 26th March 2002
Speaking on behalf of the Finucane family
Martin Finucane said:
"I am very pleased that the United Nations has publicly expressed
itself in such a clear and forthright way. The United Nations has made it
abundantly clear to the British government that the appointment of an
international judge to examine the murder of Pat Finucane is not the
proper mechanism and that it does not have any merit and would result in
further delays, expense and public anguish."

| Response
to the collapse of the trial of William Stobie |
| 26th November 2001
We are not surprised by the collapse of
the Stobie trial. The trial of Stobie was never a truth seeking process.
We have maintained that the Stevens investigation and the prosecution of
Stobie was a delaying tactic to thwart the establishment of a public
inquiry.
