Further Press Statement
on behalf of our client Tony Deery
26 January 2012 --
On 10 January 2012, Tony Deery was arrested from his home and questioned about
the arson attack on Seán Dolan’s GAC Clubhouse.
A press release was issued by Madden & Finucane Solicitors on 12 January 2012
concerning Mr Deery’s arrest.
He was released on police bail to return to Strand Road PSNI Station on 24
January 2012.
His solicitor Peter Madden issued the following statement today:
“My client, who has consistently denied any involvement in this attack has now
been released unconditionally by the PSNI. Police confirmed that they had
obtained CCTV evidence from Altnagelvin Hospital which proved clearly that Mr
Deery was present there for a number of hours both before and after the arson
attack on Seán Dolan’s.
Not a single piece of evidence has been presented by the Police
throughout three police interviews to link him to the attack.”
